Christoff Raath – CEO, Consulting Actuary
B Com (Hons), FASSA, FIA

Christoff Raath has developed his actuarial career almost exclusively in the healthcare financing arena. He joined the company at its inception, tasked with the practical application of the Health Monitor model, a sophisticated stochastic computer model developed by the company for the healthcare environment.

Christoff has interacted on a detailed level with the majority of South Africa’s medical scheme administrators, managed care organisations and other industry service providers over the past eight years. In his capacity as an advisor to several medical schemes, he frequently interacts with the regulatory authorities and various representative bodies related to the private sector healthcare financing industry.

Christoff is a member of the Healthcare Committee of the Actuarial Society of South Africa.

Matthew joined the Health Monitor Company in 2005 as a senior actuarial consultant in the field of HIV and AIDS and has become involved in healthcare consulting of a more general nature over time. He qualified as an actuary in 2008. His main areas of practice currently include medical schemes consulting as well as post-retirement medical aid funding.

Matthew studied actuarial science at the University of the Witwatersrand and started his career at Alexander Forbes Financial Services in the pension funds’ actuarial and consulting departments.

Matthew is responsible for day to day operations at the company.

Henri Gonin – Technical Actuary
B Com (Hons), FASSA, FIA

Henri is an actuary at the Health Monitor Company, responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of the Health Monitor model and its adaptation to other applications. Prior to joining the company, Henri was a part-time time lecturer at the University of Pretoria while employed at Momentum.

Faheem Suban – Software Developer
B Econ Sc

Faheem joined the Health Monitor Company in 2010. He is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Health Monitor data warehouse. Faheem has almost completed his qualification as an actuary. Prior to joining Health Monitor Faheem was involved in software development of trading systems and other Business Intelligence projects.

Anneke van Onselen – Consultant
B Sc (Hons) Business Mathematics and Informatics – Quantitative Risk Management

Anneke joined the Health Monitor Company in 2007.  She is responsible for the monthly monitoring and reporting of several medical schemes.  Anneke started her career at Ernst & Young as a Data Analyst.

Axolile Daniel – Data analyst

Axolile joined the Health Monitor Company in October 2009. He is responsible for the analysis of data using the Health Monitor model, a computerised risk-management model designed specifically for medical schemes.

Axolile is currently completing his qualification in Computer Systems Engineering. Prior to joining Health Monitor Axolile has held positions in the IT industry as a software developer and database administrator.

Eric Wilkins – Database and Network Administrator

Eric joined the Health Monitor Company in May 2009. He is responsible for all data imports, data checking, data cleansing and also the whole IT infrastructure from setting up PC’s, configuring servers to purchasing IT products for the company.

Eric is currently completing his qualification as a Microsoft Certified Database Administrator. Eric has held a range of positions within the IT industry where he has been involved in IT support and sales.

Jaco de Wet – Actuarial Consultant
B Sc

Jaco joined the Health Monitor Company in 2010. Jaco holds a BSc degree in Actuarial Mathematics from the University of Pretoria. He is currently completing his studies towards qualifying as an actuary. He has gained experience at the Health Monitor Company by consulting and reporting to some of the major medical schemes.

Janie Roos – Actuarial Consultant
B Sc

Janie graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2009. She joined the Health Monitor Company in 2010 after working in the pensions industry for the first part of her career. She is currently a student of the Actuarial Society of South Africa and is in the process of completing her actuarial exams.

Hugo Mouton – Actuarial Consultant
B Sc (Hons)

Hugo joined the Health Monitor Company in June 2011 after starting his career at a general insurance software development company. He graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2009 and is close to completing his studies towards qualifying as an actuary.
